This time of the year is my absolute favorite! Although I do love Summer, there is something spectacular and magical about Fall and harvest time! My friend Joan gave me the great idea to dry Pomegranates from my tree in the yard. How have I not thought of that?! That's why it pays to have beautiful and creative friends! You can even check her out here 2 Ladies and a Chair
There is no secret to drying them. I prefer to do it naturally, in the sun. This process can take a few weeks, depending on the weather.
FUN FACT: Pomme Spice was inspired from the tree in my backyard. It's a blend of Pomegranate, Apple and Clove! You can shop here >> Shop Agape Candles
If you prefer a quick way to dry them put in the oven on a baking rack 120 degrees for 5-8 hrs flipping every hour.
If you prefer to do it the old fashioned way like i do, just pick them and lay them on a table in direct sunlight, or wherever you get the most sun. After a few weeks, they become hard and hollow. You'll be able to see the ridges on the side more prominently.
I love being able to decorate with them in bowls, and even used them as part of a display in our recent trip to the Downtown Tracy Vintage and Antique Faire!
I hope this leaves you feeling inspired to picking things from nature and decorating with them!
